Charity Balls Melbourne

We love watching and supporting people raise money for a cause and we have seen some great events over the years - from charity auctions to activity and trivia nights and much more.  Generally these events are filled with emotion and that is why we work with the organiser to ensure a maximum return on their event.  We also want to ensure all guests have had a great time, have supported the event, and hopefully will leave with an empty pocket!

Some success stories...

Event Name:  Shelford Girls Grammar, Quaerite Dinner
Number of Guests:  230 guests

The atmosphere was electric. The Blue and White Diamond theme was evident in every space, from the crystal chandeliers and centerpieces, to the Champagne Diamond on offer as a prize for a lucky winner.  As a cause close to Red Scooter, we didn’t hesitate in being a sponsor and venue for Shelford Girls Grammar Fundraiser; The Quaerite Dinner. Blue and white crystals were sold, each with an engraved number on it, as an entry fee to the night’s major prize. Holloway Diamonds offered up the grand prize, with a one in 100 chance of taking home the beautiful stone! Guests were welcomed into EJ’s Space, where the stunning venue played host to canapés and cocktails with Gerard Assi entertaining us on acoustic guitar. As photos took place on the red carpet, staff welcomed guests into the Hamilton Room, transformed into a dazzling dining room. Francis Greenslade from Channel 7’s “Winners and Losers” was  MC for the evening, before the feature band Headspace hit the stage. Guest on the evening Ross Wilson even got on stage to perform for the crowd! Between sets of brilliant music, Daniel from Biggin and Scott auctioned off the nights goods, and the silent auction drew much attention. The night was an enormous success, raising over $50,000 for the construction of Shelford’s new Quaerite Centre.

Event Name:  Wish to Walk Inaugural Mirror Ball
Number of Guests:  240 guests

Melbourne Function CentresWish to Walk is a Charity that was created for Isabel Martin, a brave 10 year old girl who is yet to experience the joy of taking her first step.  An operation to remove a benign spinal tumour saw Isabel become paraplegic at the tender age of 8 months.  Isabel has a special connection with Red Scooter, as the Managing Director’s daughter, Madisson goes to school with Isabel.  He felt motivated to support Wish to Walk to help raise money for Isabel.

The inaugural Mirror Ball was a wonderful celebration and a resounding success. Over 240 guests attended the glittery affair as guests were spoiled by the attentive staff that donated their earnings from the evening and savored the delicious food whilst they perused the vast array of silent Auction items and joined in the Mirror Ball game.  The evening kicked off with Jane Kennedy as MC, followed by a video portrait of Isabel. It was an electric evening full of inspiration and courage, with loads of glamour and overwhelming generosity.  Raising over $60,000 on the night, the monies raised was able to continue with the Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy and Lokomat Gait Training that has activated so many of her improvements to date. An FES cycle has been purchased, allowing Isabel to exercise her lower limbs with innumerable benefits in the convenience of her own home.

“To the beautiful staff @ Red Scooter, Your generosity blows Dave and I away. We are overwhelmed by your kindness and offer to help Isabel
on her quest to realise her dream.  We would also like you to know that your generosity is an inspiration to
our family – that we are not alone.  In honouring your support, Dave and I will do our best, to promote a
change in the Australian approach to caring for people affected by Spinal cord injury, for the benefit of our
community. Many thanks and bless you all.”

With love & gratitude.”

Event Name:  Wild about Max Gala Evening
Number of Guests: 190 guests

The Wild about Max Gala evening was a night all about Max!  Over 190 guests celebrated the inaugural Gala evening.  Colin Wilson welcomed the guests, followed by a beautiful photo presentation of Max which set the scene for sharing Max's story.  Max is living with a rare genetic disorder called Sanfilippo Syndrome which will eventually cut Max’s life short.  Guests mingled amongst the silent auction items whilst enjoying fantastic food and service.  The Live Auction was presented by Mark Staples from Hocking Stuart.  It was very entertaining and everyone got involved.  The night raised in excess of $30,000 which will go towards ensuring Max can receive the equipment and support needed to give him the best quality of life.

“Thank you so much for an amazing evening – we can’t thank you enough" Vanessa Ede-Scott
